Howe Tuition Assistance
Paying for a quality private boarding school education can be difficult and for many families requires the pooling of money from multiple sources. Most often these funds will come from family savings and earnings, loans, and through assistance provided by the school.
Howe uses a variety of approaches to support its families through both need and merit based financial assistance:
- Need based assistance is allocated to families who cannot, through their own resources, cover the full cost of school.
- Merit based assistance is awarded to cadets who have exhibited outstanding performance in the areas of scholarship, leadership, and involvement in the areas of music, sports and other co-curricular or extra-curricular activities.
Both need and merit assistance is awarded competitively and on a rolling basis. Financial assistance is awarded on an academic year basis. The average award is about $4,500 with about 40 percent of our students receiving some form of assistance.
Indiana Choice Scholarship Program
Indiana is committed to providing all children access to quality educational opportunities, no matter where they live or how much money is in the family bank account. Indiana’s Choice Scholarship program gives Hoosier families the opportunity to send their children to a school that best meets their learning needs. A Choice Scholarship, or “voucher,” is a state payment that qualifying families can use to offset tuition costs at participating schools, such as Howe Military Academy. Students qualify based on total household income and the amount of the scholarship corresponds with the public school corporation in which the student lives.
This exciting program is available to Indiana residents that apply to Howe Military Academy. NOTE: this year’s application deadline is September 1, 2017. Howe Military Academy will work with the parents to submit applications and enroll students. Parents should explore the documents at the website listed below for more information.
