INTERNATIONAL ADMISSIONSInformation About International Admissions
Howe Military Academy has a long tradition of providing an excellent education to students from around the world. The Academy’s current international student enrollment is about 15% with the goal of increasing that to near 20% over the next two years.
At Howe, students will be offered many services to support them in their English Language acquisition. We conduct benchmark testing—initial, mid and end of year testing with a breakdown of the student’s strengths and weaknesses in English in order to gauge an ESL student’s progress and teach to their specific need in ESL English instruction with curriculum levels. TOEFL, SAT and ACT vocabulary and test prep and collegiate vocabulary instruction will also be an important part of the ESL class curriculum. Class sizes are small and ESL students will be offered lots of individualized attention. Our ESL Instructor will communicate with each student’s classroom teacher and support teachers and ESL students in every way possible.
