Each year, as a private school, we rely not only on tuition revenue but also private donations to power operating expenses. Thank you for your desire to continue an exceptional Howe experience to present and future cadets.

SUPPORT HOWE MILITARY ACADEMY
Unless you note otherwise, when you make a donation to Howe Military Academy you will be thanked and recognized in our Annual Report at the end of the fiscal year (June 30). Below is a list of the honorable giving societies and their levels of participation required to join. ANNUAL GIVING LEVELS
John Heyward McKenzie Fellow
Named in honor of Howe’s first rector, members include those who have contributed $2,500 or above to Howe during a fiscal year.
Named in honor of Howe’s ten former superintendents, this society recognizes those who have contributed $1,000 – $2,499 to Howe during a fiscal year.
Members include those who have contributed $500 – $999 to Howe during a fiscal year.
Members include those who have contributed $250 – $499 to Howe during a fiscal year.
Members include those who have contributed $100 – $249 to Howe during a fiscal year.
Maroon & White Club
Members include those who have contributed up to $99 to Howe during a fiscal year.
SPECIAL RECOGNITION SOCIETIES
Society of 1884
Named in honor of the founding year of Howe Military Academy, this society recognizes those whose lifetime giving has reached a level of $50,000 or more.
Herrick Fellow Society
Named in honor of Howe’s greatest benefactor, the Herrick family, this society recognizes donors who have contributed over $10,000 to Howe.
John Badlam Howe Society
Named in honor of Mr. Howe’s original bequest, this society recognizes those who have designated Howe Military Academy as a beneficiary of their will, trust, or life insurance policy. The school recognizes those visionaries who value the education of future generations and honor the ideals of Howe by making deferred gifts.
When you donate monthly you will join a special group of people reaching out each month to continue building leadership and excellence at Howe Military Academy. Together, we can carry on the traditions Mr. & Mrs. Howe and our founders began in 1884.
$20/monthly: Helps fund the leadership skills Howe Military Academy instills in all Cadets
$50/monthly: Funds character building in Cadets around campus.
$100/monthly: Funds growth and responsibility among tomorrow’s future.
$250/monthly: Funds the longevity of the rich traditions started at Howe in 1884.
*Note: Donating to HMA through an SGO is only available to residents of the State of Indiana. Donations from out of state residents should be made through our online donation page, mailing your donation to the school, or by contacting the Development Office.
What is an SGO?
A Scholarship Granting Organization provides tuition scholarships to income eligible students attending a partnering K-12 private school, such as Howe Military Academy. Donors who donate to the LaGrange County Community Foundation SGO will be eligible to take advantage of a 50% credit against their individual or corporation state-tax liability.
How can this help Howe?
You are able to restrict your donation to Howe Military Academy. Your donation will allow us to help families that live in Indiana and want to attend Howe, but need some additional assistance.
What is the total contribution and credit amount?
There is no limit on how much a donor can contribute to a qualified SGO, however, the entire tax credit program cannot exceed more than $12.5 million in credits in the fiscal year (July 1, 2017 – June 30, 2018). There is no cap on the number of tax credits a donor can receive as long as the credits are available.

How do I donate?
Donations can be made by visiting the LaGrange County Community Foundation SGO online donation page, or by printing the SGO donation form and mailing your donation to the LaGrange County Community Foundation.
