It is with gratitude that we announce the new state-of-the-art Strength and Fitness Center at Howe Military Academy has been completed.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the following alumnus and current families for making this facility a reality:
- David Hackett ’51 and his wife Krystyna
- and Mrs. David and Traci Tate
- and Mrs. John and Lisa Didier and Family
- and Mrs. Bruce and Candace Matthews
It is through the generosity of these families that we continue to advance the Academy and expand our athletic program.
The Academy’s President, Colonel Tom Tate, commented that, “the Strength and Fitness Center fills a significant void in the Academy’s wholisitic approach to Cadet development. Along with a rigorous academic and leader development programs, Cadets will have the opportunity to advance their physical readiness and wellness utilizing state-of-the-art-equipment in a comfortable and motivating environment. The entire campus community is excited about the facility”.
Recently hired Athletic Director, Mr. Anthony Mytas, looks forward to helping cadets reach new heights in their athletic careers at Howe. He sees the new Strength and Fitness Center as playing a key role in that success. Mr. Mytas shared, “It’s exciting to have world-class facilities, and as Howe Military Academy expands and grows we are excited to see the athletic program continue to develop into one of the best in the state, if not the nation.”
A special thank you to David and Traci Tate, and their company, Elite FTS, for their efforts to procure and install the equipment; we are grateful for their help in creating an elite Fitness Center with equipment that is branded specially for Howe Military Academy. Thank you to Mrs. Tate for painting the lettering on the walls, a signature feature in the new facility.
Cadets enjoyed working with Mr. David Tate and EliteFTS yesterday during cadet orientation to learn to properly use the new equipment. We are excited that this opportunity could be included as part of our inaugural Leadership Camp that is currently underway.
We are very fortunate to have such generous alumni and parents working together for the betterment of our school and are grateful for our new Strength and Fitness Center. Thank you again to all who contributed to its success.
